installed 5.63 over 5.62.  more or less ok but again I saw hangup at the finish “installing driver” — it had installed but it hung, had to logout sua, login as admin, logout as admin, login as sua, might have something to do with vm?, and all seems normal WLC scan is 6.ss  seconds. Not running privazer so can’t comment.

I usually have no problem installing new version over old version, but did have minor issue today installing 5.62 beta over 5.61 beta on win10_vm.  running sua, installed as admin, tried to close running 5.61 but seemed like it did not want to close, and the install of 5.62 did not finish normally and I saw that MsMpEng.exe was hogging lots of cpu power, ended up doing a forced restart and when it restarted 5.62 WAS installed.  seems to be running ok now.  that exe is related to windows defender, so VS was struggling with WD during this install… ???

fwiw, I’ve used VS continually for a long time (I think I have some version 1.nn files saved somewhere), and then was intrigued with cruelsister’s persistence for comodo firewall (when “properly” configured).  I’ve been running VS and CF together for a few years now without any compatibility issues.  I’ve been told this setup is overkill, but why if it does not affect performance?  I ignored those naysayers.  Only change I’ve made lately, I run win10 in vmware workstation 15. I now run WD for av which does display a green checkmark, but I like seeing a white WLC icon in systray.  Last snapshot scan was 6.23 sec.  Lately, I ponder privacy more than security.

since Dan mentioned it here, I installed WLC 1.06 beta standalone on win7.

VS 5.60 on win10 continues here aok.

dual prong question ref win7 and VS

going online with win10 in virtual machine running VS 5.60, BUT also running win7 with VS 5.04 & WLC 1.05.

on win7 so far not getting automatic popup to update to 5.60, but really wondering… is, or how is, WLC incorporated with VS 5.60 different than WLC 1.05 running as a “stand alone” but alongside VS 5.04??  That aside, win7 has a 3d-party firewall so on win7 the WLC firewall rules are disabled.  Would 5.60 combo of both apps offer MORE protection on win7 than the current setup of individual apps?

I’ve been following the development of 5.50 & WLC but answer to this is unclear (to me).

installed 5.58 on win10_vm over 5.57, no obvious problems seen.  initial scan 4.66 sec.

right before install, 5.57 WLC alerted for setup.exe which was an automatic update file for Brave browser, the file was not signed.

Dan: That is interesting about Australia… the funny thing is I am close to the server and I get the message box sometimes as well.

Yeah, I think I’m closer too with my vpn in Dallas, and I’m often using vpn, a paid fast vpn, and normally I do not get the error but I was getting it last night too and earlier this morning, but not now — sometimes internet traffic gets bottled up and everyone experiences it, but might not notice, but running WLC and it happens and very noticeable.

I’m running vpn here, normally I do not see issues with WLC and vpn, unless the vpn updates with a new file that is often not signed, then it gets flagged as unsafe.  I think Dan has server issues sometimes, he suggested DDoS attacks from time to time…?

I skipped 5.55 versions and installed 5.56beta over 5.54k and seems semi ok, initial WLC scan 2.20 sec, but maybe 30 after I installed 5.56 I got  a popup notice “unsafe file” so I looked but nothing listed and on the WLC window it said All Safe, so it must have sent a questionable file to server and then got a return that it was safe.  Running 5.56 on win10_pro_vm.  On my win7 I’m still running VS 5.04 + WLC standalone 1.05.
