Can’t edit the other post sorry

Sometimes my VS “AutoPilot” switches to “Smart Mode” still found no clue how exactly to reproduce it :/
    E.g 5 mins ago:

I just ended an onlinegame and was not sure if I had VS on Autopilot. I looked and it was “smart mode”, I changed it to autopilot, got a coffe and ended the sandboxed webrowser> VS turned from autopilot to “smart mode”.
Since it not always happens and not always while doing the same things I can only offer this as beta feedback sadly.

Thanks for the answer explaining the results.

From the few programms I often use (rather static system) I got 2 results where I expect that they were the other way around.
I expected rorlauncher to be “suspious” and par2j.exe which is part of Sabnzb standalone to be labeled as safe.

Afaik the Sabnzb standalone got no mulitpar.exe include only the par2j64.exe and par2j.exe (so no PUP?).

Anyways I’m curious so I had to ask to understand it better.

Thanks for the tip with the checkboxes, I totaly forgot about them.

Just testing the latest beta. Trying to understand when WLC labels files as “suspious”

File rorlauncher got a valid signature and 10/67 on VT > File labeled safe

File par2j got no signature and 0/66 VT and wasn’t modified since month (old file) > suspious

Any whats the way to whitelist a file in WLC while still having in and outbound traffic blocked? Some files I consider clean which never would need internet in any way.

And what’s up with the old wordpress stuff? Isn’t WP something thats needed constant bugfixes to get installed?

Can’t put the picture in the rightplaces in this forum no clue why…

    Maybe “Safety unknown”?
For Webapp: Vivaldi (browser), Aimp, VLC (VS not installed atm so just from memory)

I was wondering how I could have missed the option to “Blacklist the following items when VS is on” because it seemed nice. Then I saw that the screenshots were from VS 3.00. VS 5.77 looks a bit different 😀

Anyway nice of you to give away licenses.

I run Firefox sandboxied and this forum is the only forum where I have problems with quotes. To lazy to do troubleshooting for problems only on one website 😀

Whenever I tried adguard (browser app) or ublock origin there were still sites where the adguard desktop app got better results (less adds). I was to lazy to get much into the advanced (or what it’s called) mode of ublock but for me the “just activate filters once and be done with it” solution was adguard desktop.

Afaik Adguard got a 30 days trial. Maybe give it a test and see if it’s worth the money for you.
https://stacksocial.com/sales/adguard-personal-plan-lifetime-subscription            20$ for 3 licenses. (read the fine print)

@Dan Quote:”Yeah, at times WLC is supposed to show all of the items, and at other times it is supposed to show only the Not Safe items,”.
My problem was that WLC showed none item at all. Neither safe nor unsafe, it showed nothing (I didn’t whitened out the screen there was nothing in it)

Thanks for the tip with the”For the time being, you can click the “Unresolved Not Safe Items”. I didn’t know that 🙂

@Dan Every now and then I get it that no filenames are shown in the WLC screen. Not seeing what WLC does is no fun. With no visible info I can’t see if the WLC is just very slow atm or “gave up” 😀 VS 5.60

Logs send via email. Could you please also take a look at the swtor files VS always seem to forgot? Posted

@Dan Just cleaned some files with “WiseDisk Cleaner 10.2.6.777 portable” got the same problem that was fixed for privazer. Red WLC icon in endless scanning while not showing which file is considered “unsafe”. VS 5.60

@Dan Just as info. VS can’t seem to remember when I allow the brsptstub.exe which is used to patch Starwars the old republic (talking about the MMORPG and not some cracked game). The file is used to patch the client (afaik). But even when there was no patchdownload VS wants me to “allow” it every time again. VS 5.50 always on mode

If you implement the option to scan files of 500mb better give the users an option to cancel/ask for the WLC upload. I wouldn’t want to be the user with a slow upload “forced” to see a 500mb upload happening 😀 In some countrys the upload is like 1/10 from the maximum download or worse.

@Tarnak The downloaded VS 5.60 from Dans homepage and the link from Dan posted here got the same hash for me: a08d9ae8c78c9ce9c51bee96ed7ab369eab668e053d80af7f01f86d76792d3cd

Not sure if I understood you correct
My guessing: I’m not sure if can check the hash during an GUI started update. If you check the installed exe it got another hash since it is not the installer anymore. I think you could only check installed VS against installed VS and not installer vs installed.

If I got it all wrong you have to wait for the pros 😀

@Tarnak Thanks for the reply. I really like the friendly help in this forum 🙂

For me it was not about getting a solution, more about getting to know how/why the exact same file (since same hash)  could get listed twice. I’m curious by nature 😀

    Noob logic so be warned:
Even with paths and parents a file can only be safe or not. If other processes hijacks it to do forbidden stuff shouldn’t the hijacker been labeled unsafe then? So why list two times the exact same file (same hash)?

Since the installer was in German I just wanted to mention it so Dan wouldn’t get swamped with German KIS user support tickets 😀

No help needed atm I just wanted to express my thoughts/logic as good as I can 😀
