    I’m back on the merry-go-round again with red tray icons on both machines after a system restart.  🙁

    Having WLC showing Red with each schedule scan that with some system is taking quite long it may cause some of us to do something regrettable, botched clean install etc.

    Flashing Icon

    Amber/orange Icon

    Just white until files found unsafe

    Anything but a Red Icon while scanning.

    Me think.

    I’m disabling WLC for now.  It spends far too much time scanning and rescanning.  I don’t know why once files have been scanned they are getting reanalyzed again.

    Fair enough. Shame though as VS and WLC as separated apps seems to work fine.

    Just for the heck of it I may try disable WLC in VS , install WLC as a separate apps for a while and see how it goes. (If it is possible).

    VS with WLC enabled exit fine here.

    VS with WLC disabled, and with WLC as a separate apps enabled exit fine.

    Hope it make sense.

    I was wondering, it seems  aussie fellas are those affected most. Dan say it could be a server issue, could it be related to us Down Under?

    Krusty: I’m disabling WLC for now.  It spends far too much time scanning and rescanning.  I don’t know why once files have been scanned they are getting reanalyzed again.

    With the default scan every 5 minutes on my laptop which takes around 40 seconds to scan, that’s a fair chunk of time my CPU is working just to keep WLC happy.

    yes, WLC as a separate apps set to scan every 5 mins, it take just 2to 3 secs. Just tested several time. A lot of difference.

     

    WLC on its own take a snapshot, no scanning wheel or icon turning Red. Very Good.

    VS + WLC goes on scanning mode and stay Red till completion.

    Just an observation…

    Yeah, those are all things we can tweak over the next couple of weeks.

    If anyone is having an issue, please uninstall VS, reboot and perform a clean install.  If for some reason you still have problems please let me know, thank you!

    Going back to VS + WLC enabled before bedtime in about 5 hours. That is better for feedback as a seemliness integration is what you are aiming  for.

    After a clean install on my two machines everything was looking good… until a system restart.  I hope WLC is just taking ages to scan but I’ve got the dreaded red tray icon again.  It has been scanning for well over 10 minutes so far.
